Power Grid: Russia/Japan Expansion (Recharged Version)

The maps of Russia and Japan featured in this expansion can only be played with a copy of Power Grid (Recharged Version) or the base game of Power Grid. While the rules of Power Grid (Recharged Version) remain largely unchanged, there are several modifications and special features introduced for the two new maps contained within this expansion.

Russia Introduction In the Russian map, the market for power plants is restricted. Additionally, the standard rules for exchanging out-of-date power plants have been altered, requiring players to rethink their strategies completely.

Preparation Before shuffling the remaining power plants (with the plug symbol on the back) and placing them on top of the power plant stack, remove power plants "06" and "14" from the game. Depending on the number of players, randomly remove a specific number of power plants from the remaining stack: 6 for 2 players, 8 for 3 players, and 4 for 4 players. Place the topmost 6 power plants into the power plant market.

Fill the resource market as follows: coal - spaces 3–8, oil - spaces 1–8, uranium - spaces 6–16. On the map, the cheapest starting spaces for each resource are marked with a symbol. At the start of the game, there is no garbage in the resource market.

Depending on the number of players, place the matching resource refill card for Russia on the game board.
