Friedemann Friese, the award-winning designer of Power Grid and Friday, has created a new game called Faiyum. 3,900 years ago, the Faiyum basin was transformed into the granary for Egypt, and now the players take on the role of advisors to Pharaoh Amenemhet, competing to urbanize the oasis-like Faiyum.

Faiyum is a strategic game designed for fans of planning games. The basic rules are straightforward: players play their cards one by one on their personal discard stack to harvest goods, build roads, found settlements, and more. After playing some or all of their cards, players take them back into their hand in "reverse" playing order, making the order in which they play their cards crucial.

Additionally, newly purchased cards go directly into the player's hand, so the timing of acquiring and playing these cards is important. In the end, the most cunning advisor who creates the best card combinations will emerge victorious in Faiyum.

The game is suitable for 1-5 players, aged 14 and above, with a playing time of approximately 120 minutes. The game's contents include 257 wooden parts, 100 cards, 50 cardboard tokens, a game board, a rulebook, and a glossary.
