As with the primal game, players gradually lay out this scenario with 91 small square cards: with rivers that meander through meadows and forests, with simple huts, with animals, hunters and collectors. As the prehistoric hunters followed the tracks of shaggy aurochs and the collectors picked berries from prickly shrubs, the up to five competitors of this new game exclusively collect and hunt points. This is not only much easier, but also much more fun. The playing hunters, collectors and fishermen of the Carcassonne early period get points for fish in rivers, for game in meadow clearings, for dark forests where luminous mineral treasures are hidden - there are bonus cards for this - and they get points for small wooden huts that they tactically skillfully in the prehistoric world of Carcass they have designed.

The rules are admirably simple and as with the original, the new Carcassonne hunter and collector has a myriad of tactical possibilities that guarantee a lot of exciting and varied fun. Just as you know it from the game of the year 2001.
